DSA Recognizes Champions of Direct Selling

When the Direct Selling Association takes proactive action to support or promote legislation that is beneficial for our industry, we seek allies on both sides of the political aisle. Our goal is to better inform members of Congress, state legislators and their staffs about the contributions that direct selling companies and the more than 15 million independent sellers make to our communities and nation.
Promoting legislation is not a simple task, and often requires a great deal of time, effort and dedication to ultimately craft good policy. The DSA Government Relations staff and executives from members companies reach out to legislators and elected officials from both political parties. These individuals then engage and educate their fellow lawmakers on the benefits of direct selling, and the critical nature of laws that encourage entrepreneurship and economic growth.
DSA wishes to recognize those legislators and elected officials who have put great effort into supporting the direct selling industry, whether in introducing anti-pyramid legislation, supporting the uniform treatment of direct sellers as independent contractors under state unemployment laws, or defending direct sellers from income tax withholding on independent contractors. The key lawmakers who have listened to our concerns, supported our industry, and have gone above and beyond their legislative duties to protect direct sellers are recognized by DSA as Legislative Champions.
